What is a PA West Soccer Referee?
A PA West Soccer Referee is an official licensed through the U.S. Soccer Federation to oversee soccer matches within the Pennsylvania West Soccer Association (PA West). Referees ensure that games are played safely, fairly, and according to the Laws of the Game. They serve a vital role in youth and adult soccer by promoting sportsmanship, enforcing rules, and maintaining the flow of the game.
Responsibilities:

Officiate games at various age and competition levels.

Make decisions on fouls, goals, misconduct, and game stoppages.

Work with assistant referees or serve as an assistant, depending on assignment.

Submit game reports and handle any incidents requiring follow-up.
Requirements:

Must complete a U.S. Soccer Grassroots Referee Course (available online and in-person).

Must register with PA West Soccer and pass required background checks (for those 18+).

Must complete SafeSport training (if 18 or older).

Receive referee badge and uniform before officiating games.
